Today marks the 100th celebration of women world wide.  Starting in 1911, International Women's Day has been recognized in countries all over the world to promote and ensure equality for women in all aspects of life as well as to mark the social, political and economic achievements of women.

The United States, Cuba, Russia, Vietnam, Ukraine, and several other countries recognize this day to celebrate and honor the mothers, friends, aunts, grandmothers, daughters, cousins, coworkers in their lives with gifts and special events.  In fact, there are hundreds of events around the world that take place on March 8th and throughout the month for International Women's Day.

Thinking about the strides women have made in our country, it makes me thankful for the freedom we enjoy.  It's important for us to be aware that women in other countries have different rights and, in some cases, not as much freedom.  However, more importantly, we must keep moving forward.  Join us in celebrating the women who make a difference in our personal lives and in the world.  Follow us on Twitter to see the women we want to honor.

Happy International Women's Day!
